Influence and Impact in crisis and uncertainty.

Hi members!

For our next session on Tuesday 26 May 2020, we are delighted to welcome back Dr Alicia Fortinberry, Principal at Fortinberry Murray, to present Influence and Impact in crisis and uncertainty.

These turbulent times offer both risk and opportunity. Firms are forced to make cutbacks and leaders face difficult decisions with no clear line of sight to the future. Fear, anxiety, anger and the resulting paralysis are widespread.  In this environment, technical knowledge is not enough to thrive, or in some cases even survive, in business. And just when you need to be seen to add value as a calming, confidant presence and supportive influencer you are often forced to do so virtually.  You can’t count on being able to just drop by someone’s office for a chat or bond through gossip on the way to a meeting.

Dr Alicia Fortinberry is globally recognized for her ability to help people radically improve their lives and careers.  She offers practical, simple skills and concepts based on the latest science that really work in business and at home. You will gain tips and tools you can start to use immediately to:
    • Read others’ mood and concerns
    • Project calm, confidence and focus during any interaction
    • Get people committed to you and your ideas
    • Enhance your own and others’ mood and resilience
    • Become indispensable as a trusted advisor, colleague or leader
Alicia is an internationally recognised expert in strategy, leadership, influencing, human motivation and organisational change. Drawing on the latest science in neurobiology, genetics and a wide range of other “human sciences” she enables individuals and organisations to thrive. Her proven, practical concepts and tools drive successful relationships, resilience, culture, leadership and strategy.

Alicia works extensively with top-tier professional and financial service organisations as well as Global Fortune 500 companies in the US, Europe, Asia and Australia.
With her partner Dr Bob Murray, she received the prestigious US Science Achievement Award from the American Association for the Advancement of Science for their work on personality and change. Based on their work on workplace stress, they were appointed to head the US government’s comprehensive National Work Stress Initiative under President Obama’s administration. Their books include The Human Science of Strategy: What works and what doesn’t and Leading the Future: The Human Science of Law Firm Strategy and Leadership (both ARK Group, London) and two popular best-sellers Creating Optimism, and Raising an Optimistic Child (both McGraw-Hill, New York).
